Business Incentives

Thinking about starting up a business or moving a business to a location with a lot of potential? Windsor Ontario might be worth checking out. The city anchors the 16th largest metropolitan area in the country, which means there are plenty of opportunities for owners whether you are starting up a microdermabrasion and cosmetic store or a parts supply.

That immediate area isn't the only incentive which appeals to Windsor entrepreneurs. Windsor is also the link between some of the highest populated areas in the United States and those in Canada. Located right across the border from Detroit, the city is the southernmost part of the important Quebec City-Windsor corridor. Most of Canada's population lives in this part of the country, raising families and working at their jobs. Gatineau, Windsor, St. Catharines, and many other cities are included in this area, and it's the most productive region in Canada.

Location is also important because of its proximity to so many other highly populated centres. A business could start out with one market in mind, then realize the profits to be made by appealing to other cities. For example, a professional might run a business out of Windsor, then find that there is a huge market for Oakville Ontario wedding photography. The two cities are not that far apart, which means a good living could be made through working both cities at once. Moreover, entrepreneurs also have the potential to tap markets in Toronto, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, and other larger markets.

Wait, you might say, isn't the point of starting up a business on Windsor Ontario real estate to make a living there? This is true in part, but the fact is that so many cities in southern Ontario are located so close together, you can be successful running from one location and doing the actual business in another. This can really cut down on overheads as well. With the money you save on property costs by basing operations in Windsor, you can afford to get yourself and your employees the latest communications equipment including a roaming SIM card, or just pocket the extra money you save on the bottom line.

Finally, Windsor is definitely a business friendly environment. The closure of many of the traditional automotive based shops has forced city leaders to take a good look at just how important individual entrepreneurs are. As a result, several business area improvement groups have been started. These lobby to a listening ear on such things as business friendly tax structures and zoning, as well as ideas on cutting down costs for adalet enclosures and other equipment. All in all, Windsor is a great place to base a business.
