The Windsor Market

When you're moving anywhere it's important to be informed about the local market conditions. You will definitely want to know what the average cost of a home is in that city so that you can start deciding on what you're looking for in a Windsor property or a house for sale Scarborough based. You might also be wondering if this is really the right time to buy in that location. All real estate markets have their ups and downs and if you're really interested in getting a great deal on your new home than you should pay close attention to the trends in your area.

Windsor was one of the cities in Canada hit the hardest by the economic downturn of 2008 and 2009. This was partly due to their close connection with the economy of the United States, with Detroit being right across the river, and several American based companies closing. While there was not much of a change with North York properties for sale, for example, homes in Windsor fell to under $150,000 and the number of homes sold was about half of what it had been the year before. But now things are starting to bounce back and the average price of a home in Windsor is $157,000 and steadily rising.

When looking at the statistics from Sutton Realty and other major firms you will see that the majority of homes are sold between the $140,000 to $180,000 range but there were also more than one hundred properties sold over the past six months for under $100,000. This means that whether you're coming from a London Ontario home for sale or are interested in buying your first home after being a renter for some time, you are likely to find something suiting your budget in Windsor.

The most popular areas for new homeowners in the area are Central Windsor and the downtown core, East Windsor, and South Windsor. Each of these neighborhoods saw at least one hundred home sales in the month of June. If you're selling with Oakville real estate agents and buying in Windsor than you might want to check out the appeal of these sections of the city. Lakeshore and Leamington also saw an increase in the number of home purchases over the last month.

There are currently more than eight hundred home listings on the market in Windsor to choose from and they are available in a number of home styles. The most popular is a ranch style home, followed by two-storey designs. There are also many bungalows available as well as townhouses and condos. Anyone from Toronto to the country is sure to find the style they're looking for in the real estate available in Windsor.
